Crackpot

i aint a crackpot
just lookin for a place to lay my tired head on the ground anywhere
rest my brain on the concrete drain below the streetsign to L.A.

i can hear the trucks and the cars race by my solid blue eyes
flickering electric smoke unfreezing the falling ice into black rain
cracking my joints bent in their crooked red pain

fingers of time slowing my progress to a virtual crawl
slow motion sunshine flowing
laughing at it all
crying at the wall...

with laws or no laws to be broken
with words or no words to be spoken
taken or left
left or right
right or wrong
all the same it's a player's game
graveside is graveside and not 6 feet under

i aint a crackpot
just lookin for a place to lay my tired head on the ground anywhere
rest my brain on the concrete drain below the streetsign to L.A.

don't involve me in your scheme
journeys into the unknown
you're nothing but a drama queen
secret agent who's cover is blown

with laws or no laws to be broken
with words or no words to be spoken
taken or left
left or right
right or wrong
all the same it's a player's game
graveside is graveside and not 6 feet under
